I love using my resperate, but I'm getting frustrated with it always taking me to a BPM that is lower than where I want to be. I usually start anywhere from 13-18 BPM, and am under 10 BPM in less than one minute. At around 5 minutes I hit 6 BPM and that feels perfect. But it keeps slowing me down. I get down to around 4.8 BPM and it's just not as comfortable.
The advice to "breathe normally" and let the machine adjust-- does not help. If I breathe out of synch, then the voice will come on and try to coach me back in synch. Pretty soon I'm breathing exactly opposite of what I'm supposed to and a voice is squawking at me. It's not very relaxing at that point. The suggestion to just take off the headphones isn't a very good one either. That defeats the whole purpose of having the machine in the first place. I just wish there was a way to set a baseline. |

Many people have called it a design flaw, yet everytime I go back to our R&D Dept, they insist it is not! There are many people who can easily get down to a lower BR, and as long as you are keeping up with the tones, it will continue to try to bring you down.
