Saw the RespErate advertised on Yahoo.
Wouldn't it allow insurance companies to stop covering hypertension meds? I learned some meditation techniques back in the 70s from the TM group, those techniques (in concert with a Radio Shack Biofeedback monitor) allowed me to slow my pulse, lower blood pressure and be mellow... As long as I had an hour or two a day to TM. I have high blood pressure now, relaxing kinda works, but at NO time can I relax on my job during the workday. How many of RespErates' users work in construction, manufacturing or law enforcement? The last thing anybody wants is a relaxed cop, or in my case, high steel welder. My meds work, and hypertension is NOT psychosomatic. =M0= |

I'm a machinist and use Resperate(not on the job though). I use it immediately after work and at bed time. The calm feeling I get carries over into the next day. If anything, I'm more alert and calm during the day. It's possible to be alert and calm at the same time. I'm still using my meds and will continue doing so until my doctor advises me to cut back or whatever. I agree, hypertension is not psychosomatic but when someone is under stress, the heart beats differently, the rate of breathing changes, muscles tense up and a host of other biochemical things happen. I'm not new to biofeedback and have seen the heatbeat before and during resperate usage. I don't think stress is the only cause of hypertention but always makes it worse. Remember, stress kills.
