My unit has stopped working. My email to support went unanswered other than the automated you will get a response within 48 hours. I really like this product but would have to think twice about rebuying a new unit every 2-3 years. Is there no way to get repairs done on these? Seems like a landfill disaster to just dispose every time one breaks. And further, having a $300 product that only lasts 2-3 years is not long enough.

Can someone tell me the options?

Thanks!

Hi Karen:

Just a thought. Have you checked the batteries? I've had my Resperate for over two years and have not had a problem, except for having to replace the batteries.

Yes, definitely tried that - several sets of batteries just in case. Mine was fine for 2 years too - now I am up in the 3 year range.

Hi Karen: I figured you had checked out the batteries but I just wanted to be sure.

I am sure that Marguerite will be answering you soon. Marguerite always has all the answers. I know how you feel though. I wouldn't want to be without my 15 minutes for too many days.

I hope so. I just went into my receipts and my unit is coming up on 3 years in Jan '10. I've never dropped it or anything like that. That's too short a life span in my opinion, especially considering things like iPods and cell phones take much worse beatings but seem to live along time.

Thanks Dandee...
Karen,
I am not sure what you mean when you say that your device has stopped. If you've replaced all 4 batteries with 4 brand new non-rechargable, Alkaline batteries and have not dropped it or exposed it to direct sunlight or moisture, then you may need to send it in for repair/replacement. Have you sent an e-mail to SUPPORT@RESPERATE.COM? I will send you a personal message offline to further instruct you.
On a separate note, we do not dispose of any device. These do not make it to any landfill. We care about the environment (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The device won't turn on - it's dead similar to if the batteries were shot. Yes, I've tried the batteries, and have always used alkaline. Yes, I've sent email to support and gotten no reply back. The website gives no information about repair which is why I came to post in the forums.

That's fine, I have no concern with you posting in the forum. Can you do just one final thing? Open the battery cover & look at the springs. Are the battery springs all in place? It's possible that one of the battery springs came loose which is not allowing for the battery flow.
Keep me posted!

They all appear to be in place and attached the way they should be.

Speaking of repairs, my headphones only work in one ear and I've only had my unit for nine months. They've received kind and gentle treatment, so I'm not sure why the problem?
