Hi,

I'm a relatively new user of Resperate (although I've had it for about a year). One thing that drives me nuts is the "flimsiness" of the sensor belt. I was wondering if it is possible to make my own, using slightly more substantial material. Maybe it's just me, but I have a heck of a time making sure the belt isn't twisted -- which, unfortunately, causes a rise in my BP due to frustration (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Would changing the material affect the sensor itself?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Thanks,

K

Hi Kathe,

I think the sensor belt is made to be "flimsy". It's light and thin, so it folds easily into its home and through the sensor.

If you put it on just right the strap won't interfere with the sensor or with the rise and fall of your chest.

If the material were heavier it might want to slip down while you're wearing it, and then you'd need to tighten it & be reprimanded by the "little man".

Just flatten it out first before you wrap it around -- give yourself 4 extra seconds to do so.

You'll be fine!

Thanks Angel. After I wrote my message I fiddled around with the belt a bit more and managed to get it just right. sometimes I'm a little too impatient. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

In the beginning I had no problem getting the belt just right. lately however I get the loose belt indication mor often than not.I have to twiddle with it quite a bit to get it right. What's happening?
Another thing is that sometimes the up town gets real LONG. That has not happened before. Changed batteries! Then occasionally I get the headset sign. Why? Again occasionally I am down to 5.4 -6.4 and it starts to increase up to 9! Still breathin rythmically.
