I received my Ultra on July 30, 2009, started using it immediately and noticed no change in my bp for three weeks. I was averaging 160/110, no meds.
I do two sessions each day, typically during lunch at work, and in the evening after work. On the default setting I was getting b:14 minutes total breathing minutes. I changed the setting to 25 minutes, but that seemed too long for one sitting. I dropped it down to 20 minutes and am now getting about b:18 minutes total. This seems to work better for me since I normally start my bpm around 12-15 and end at 5.0 bpm. I feel with the extra four or five minutes I'm experiencing more relaxed breathing since I've used the first half of the session lowering my breath rate. As Marguerite says in her correspondence "Breathe easy", I've started also breathing easy. That is key for this device to work. Anyway, yesterday, Aug. 19, my avg bp prior to the session was 164/107. I did two back to back 20 minute sessions, and took three readings after the session. 144/97, 143/100, 135/95 via the Omron 790IT monitor. This is great news. For me the 20 minute session is helping me achieve deeper, slower, exhalations, than the 15 min session. I was on Tune 3 but am now using Tune 2 for better guidance w/ the guiding tones. I am encouraged to continue, and I am starting to feel better overall. It's reassuring to see this device work, and I hope my numbers continue to drop. I'm a newbie as I've only had my unit one month. I encourage you all to be patient and give Resperate a chance. Thank you, Resperate! |
