MY RESPERATE SUDDENLY STARTED AT CONSISTENTLY LOWER BPM'S. THINKING IT WAS DEFECTIVE, I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY SUGGESTED NEW BATTERIES OR DOING SESSIONS IN THE MORNING RATHER THAN EVENING. NEITHER OF THESE HAS HELPED AND THE UNIT IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY. AM I OUT OF LUCK? HELP!

If it's starting at a lower BPM, it's because the sensor is picking up a slower breathing rate. This occurs if you take deep breaths. Try quickening your breaths during the recognition phase to see if that helps. You rarely should begin at the same breathing rate, as everyone breathes at a different rate thruoghout the day. Also, do try to put in new alkaline batteries...do not use rechargable batteries.
If all of this does not make a change, then please contact customer care dept at 1-877-988-9388 Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm EST.
