Does it affect anything if one does a Resperate session in a reclining rather than a seated position?

I attempted to do this and encountered no problems except an inordinate number of "position the sensor" audio messages. This issue was resolved by placing my hand on the sensor and applying light pressure.

Seating position actually is quite important. You want to have a slight recline in your seating. The more upright you sit, the more tense your body is, which may alter the sensor readings. You want to make sure that you are comfortable to the point where you feel as if you could fall asleep right where you are!

I'm sorry for not making my question and situation clearer. I am a recovered stroke patient without use of my left arm since 1999. Adjusting the strap is therefore very difficult. Upon recieving the unit I compensated for this by lying on my back and placing the sensor on my chest. I've had no problem entering the theruputic zone and doing my 15 minutes but was wondering if it would have the same effect.

I repeated my question to the support desk giving the above background. They have instructed me to continue for seven days, then call them to review results. I'll try to report the outcome here.

Now I understand. You don't "strap" the belt on, you just place the sensor on your chest & hold the sensor in place by your hand. Interesting. I honestly do not know how this will affect your sessions (negatively or postively) I guess the rep you spoke with is correct. We really won't know if this method works until a few more sessions. I would continue lying down, if I were you.
Keep up posted.
