Arthur,
You should not see your BP go up after a session. If you are, then it's highly possible that you are putting too much effort into your session. Since you have just begun using your resperate, I would STRONGLY advise that you contact our Customer Care dept to go over your stats. Also, by speaking about what you are doing helps us understand what you could possibly be doing wrong. My guess here would be that you are probably getting down to a too low of a breathing rate. If you are using it 4 times a day, then I would suggest cutting down to 2 times a day and doing only 10 minute sessions. You may be trying too hard! I'm a new user too, just when is the best time to take one's blood pressure, before use, immediately after, or some other time?

Generally speaking, it's best to take your blood pressure at the same time of day each time you do take it. The first 2 or 3 sessions, you can take your blood pressure immediatly before your session and then right after your session.(although it's not necessary or even recommended to do so!) You want to make sure there is not an increase in your BP after a session! (this may be an indication that you've put too much effort into your breathing session) Once you feel comfortable, then you can cut back to your regular regime. The RESPeRATE gives you a sustained reduction in your blood pressure so knowing your base BP reading is important.
