When I started I used the 15 minute sessions and tried to do 2 a day. After a while, on suggestions I switched to 10 minute session and have been doing 2 to 3 a day. I usually don't do them back to back, but try to leave at least hour between them. On days when I'm home do one in the morning, maybe one in afternoon, and third in the evening. On work days, I do one early in the evening and then one just before bedtime.

At least for me, it seemed that 3 ten minutes sessions had a greater impact at lower my blood pressure than 2 longer fifteen minute sessions. It would interesting if resperate makers could run a little clinical study with two groups of patients - see if there any significant differences between the regimes. On the other side, it also seemed more fun to do the 3 shorter sessions. A full 15 minutes sometimes seems to get boring towards the end... then you start thinking about all the work piling up and things one needs to do and so on.

From what I read the total minutes per week been correlated in the drop, but perhaps not all these minutes are of equal worth. It could be the first 5 minutes of each session below 10 beats is worth more than say the last 5 minutes of a 30 minute session.

This is great. This should be an example for everyone who is using the RESPeRATE. There are a few guidlelines that should be followed such as reaching 45 minutes of therapeutic breathing per week and breathing effortlessly. Just as CCC3 is stating, there are different methods to acheive these goals. Everyone is different and the same way of using RESPeRATE will not work for everyone. Once you understand the technique and discover what works for you, then the next step is to enjoy it and allow it to work for you!

Great observation. I have been trying 20 minute sessions because I am in the zone longer than in shorter sessions. But you raise an excellent point. I assumed that longer sessions would be better and this may indeed be the case for some. But a trial with several members might provide some insights. I have discovered from using the Resperate that my respiration was quick, very stiff and shallow and that I was not breathing properly through my nose. This has improved a lot.
