The way I breathe in everyday life is that I inhale, then immeditely exhale, then immediately inhale, without pausing. I find that when I am using resperate, I get the high note to breathe in, immediately followed by the low note to breathe out. The low note then stops and there is then a pause before the high note to breathe in is sounded.
My question is, what am I supposed to do for this duration? Am I supposed to hold my breath till the high note is sounded, or am I to continue breathing out until I hear the high note to breathe in? |

Dear Jonblair123,
I'd like you to call into our customer care to go over your stats. The exercise is a shorter inhalation, immediatly followed by a prolonged exhalation. If you are at too low of a breathing rate, that exhale may seem to take forever before you get to the inhale again. You should NOT hold your breath. You should also not be putting effort to this exercise, as it sounds like you are. So, please call in and speak to someone who will go over your stats & ask you a few questions and try to figure out what is best for you! Call Toll Free: 1-877-988-9388, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm EST. I've noticed too that there is a significant pause between the ending of the exhale tone and the beginning of the inhale tone. I tend to just continue my exhale because that is what I am comfortable with. (In melody number one, the tone stops but the guitar plucks a few additional times on it's own and I follow that for my exhale)
I'm curious what you were advised to do during that time. Thanks. |

Sham,
Providing that you are absolutley comfortable at this pace, then just go with what you are doing and the RESPeRATE will adjust it's rate to your now slower rate. Breathe Easy! Marguerite (IMG:http://forum.resperate.com/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) |

If I'm following the high/low tones to create the most beneficial effect -
Should I try to start my inhale or exhale when I anticipate the tone sounding or right after the tone sounds? Thanks. |
