I've been using Resperate for two weeks now and have only just checked my BP which worryingly has increased quite a bit! Obviously this isn't the result I was expecting. I am very worried about this and would appreciate any advice as to why this has happened and how can I get it back to normal. My original BP was 147/90 which I know was too high but it has now raised to 168/100 and even higher! I did check it three times today and there wasn't much difference in any of the readings. Some advice would be very much appreciated as I don't want to give up on it. I would rather give up on my medication which is very debilitating and it would be great to eventually get off it.

I have been using Resperate for about three months now and have experienced a significant increase in blood pressure. I can't say that Resperate is responsible for my increased BP, as this is a particularly stressful time in my life--I have just begun retirement. But otherwise I have been eating well, watching salt intake, sleeping well, and getting regular exercize. I really enjoy the sessions and intend to continue doing them regardless, but it would be great to see a reduction in BP so I can avoid going on medications.
The first six weeks or so I did sessions twice a day without fail, first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening. After that I have been doing it once a day in the morning. I called support twice, but the advice I received did not help. The first time it was suggested that during the test breathing period I read a magazine to insure that I was not controlling my breathing rate. I had been starting out at a rate of around 8 BPM and after applying the advice it was more like 14 BPM. But still no change in results. The second time I was advised to make sure that my breathing rate did not fall below 5 BPM, which it often did in the last 5 minutes of the session. I did that, although having to watch the monitor to make sure BPM was above 5 made it more difficult to relax during the session. But still no change in results. Any suggestions? |
