I know you can just press a button to see the minutes left, but the screen could be made just a little larger, and it wouldn't be that hard to display minutes left in a session...

Also, one got to think that USB connection would be natural on this device. That way, one could use the computer headphones, capture different music, even load different music into the device. One could call up statistics from the resperate device, plot the session statistics, plot graphs of the sessions .... whatever one wanted. You could even provide a centralized service to upload and analyse information ( especially if unit had an add on module that did blood pressure).

We are seeing a higher demand for both these options you've mentioned. I will forward your suggestions to our R&D.

Yes, yes, yes.
All of those are great suggestions to add more features via computer!

Well, the more "features" are added the more the device is going to cost.

I don't see why users don't use a simple cooking digital timer set to ring at fifteen minutes.

Billym,
Do you own a RESPeRATE? The session brings you to such a calm level that having a kitchen timer go off might SHOCK you. The RESPeRATE has an internal clock which keeps time of your session. When the session is coming to an end, a gentle voice comes up saying, "your session is now coming to an end, good-bye for now." The musical tones will slowly get lower and lower and then it'll just turn off. You can set the duration to as little as 10 minutes or as high as 60 minutes.

Marguerite,

I don't own RESPeRATE yet. I sent you two PMs pointing that out in addition to asking a couple of questions. According to Tracking, while you haven't responded, you did read them.

Anyway, reading the various forums, I find that many of the posters make an Opera out of a tool which, at least to my research on this site and elsewhere, is a pretty straight forward device. I believe I have an excellent grasp of what the unit is and how it works. If tracking somebody's session time is a problem I thought a timer might facilitate.

Frankly, if RESPeRATE is as good as I think it is for someone who requires this kind of assistance, the sound of an egg timer is not going to negate a session's benefit. And it could relieve whatever anxiety the user has with regard to when the session is about to end.

Billym,
I believe the point is being missed. There is an internal timer in the unit already. No need for outside timer. Everything a person needs is already included in the unit.
PS_I will look at my personal messages & respond.

Marguerite, I have only used the Resperate for one week now. But I agree with you. I find that even having to look at the unit to see my BPM is a distraction once I am completely relaxed. I was in such a deep altered state of consciousness in todays' morning session that my BPM went below 3. Time tends to slow down in this state.

I considered wearing my Omron heart monitor that uses a chest band remote sensor unit. But I decided against it because I do not want to introduce any distractions. I find any foreign sound to be a distraction.

I have isolated systolic hypertension typically 145/80. After one week on the Resperate I am down to 132/80.
