Hi,

I've been using Resperate for about 1 week now. I thought things were going well until I checked the statistics. My synchronization rate was under 30%. The manuel says it should be above 60%. I tried changing a couple of things - I tightened up the strap and switched to tone 4 and this helped somewhat but my synchronization rate is still only about 60% if I really concentrate on staying with the tones. I'm now focusing more on breathing with the tones than I am relaxing and I'm finding myself stressed when using the machine. This is very discouraging.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is there something wrong with my unit or how I'm using it? The machine is new so if there's something wrong with it, I'd like to know as I can get it replaced under warranty.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi,

I thought I'd post an update as it may be useful to other having difficultly with synchronizing. It turns out that what I was doing was anticipating the change in notes as opposed to actually listening to them. What this meant was that I was always slightly ahead of the note changes and that resulted in a low score. I listened to the "Breathe In", "Breathe Out" voice commands and (more importantly) how these corresponded to the music and realized that I was doing it incorrectly.

After changing how I do this, I now get synchronization scores above 90%. Hopefully, I can now forget about the numbers and focus on relaxing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
