It depends on how well you take care of it. We still have people who have been using their devices since 2000 without any issues! I like to recommend NOT coiling the wires after each use. Store it in a protective case and just let the wires dangle. Keep away from extreme heat or cold and moisture. Never use rechargable batteries & change all 4 batteries often. There's no reason why a well maintained device shouldn't last you many years!
