Some friends and I were wondering if we could do our resperate sessions together somehow, maybe have one person the lead, and others sit around and follow the leader down the slow breathing path. I got to thinking perhaps we develop a kind of unity if we all started to breath in unison. Ok, I'm a little strange ... but what you expect from a theoretical physicist?

This got me wondering if possible to unplug the headset and put it into a speaker or something. Would there be a way to do this with say standard geto blaster?

I don't want to damage my unit --- what do the resperate experts suggest?

That is an interesting concept!

I am not a Resperate expert, but in theory this should work (do at your own risk):

Get a male-male audio cable. Connect one end to the Resperate, and the other to the Audio In of the speaker. I have done this with my computer, and it works.

Of course I personally doubt that everyone would benefit from this, since it seems unlikely that they all would have the same breathing pattern/rate.

I am curious what Team Resperate has to say about this.

You could actually plug in a set of speakers. We use amplified folding speakers when we are demoing the device to a group or doctors. The only problem I see with actually using this concept as a group to actually do the session is that the tones will be in accordance to the person wearing the sensor. This means that the tones will be personalized to the person wearing the sensor and in accordance to that person' breathing rate and pattern...which is different from everyone else in the room. The idea of the RESPeRATE is "effortless" breathing, so by having the group follow the leaders's tones is literally forcing them to breathe a pattern which isn't natural to them.
If you are looking to do this as a group, just note that there will probably be no benefit to it and you would probably be required to do another "solo" session to get or maintain your reduction.

I tried a set of computer speakers works very well... I like it. It freed me up a bit. I'm experimenting with doing Tai Chi as I do the breathing so less cords to get tangled up in the better.
I remote for the breathing sensor would even be a plus.

So far it seems to be working similarly, although I did get peculiar results. One day the systolic went down after the session but diastolic went up, and the next time I tried it I got the opposite effect. Provided some variety which is the main things.

Excellent. Variety can be a good thing (IMG:http://forum.resperate.com/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) The important thing to look out for is any increase in BP. The RESPeRATE experience is meant for you to sit down with little movement.

As a musician and music aficionado or many years standing I find that high quality over the ear headphones that filter out ambient sounds tend to literally immerse the brain in sound waves especially when meditating with music. Personal experiences will be different. But I doubt that speakers would approach the experience of a device like the Resperate with good quality headphones.
