Contrary to the way it is supposed to work , the exhalation rate relative to the inhalation rate is NOT prolonged in my sessions with Resperate. This is not a matter of not being aware that the exhalation rate is so gradually increased that I am not aware of it. Timed on a second hand, for example, at 6 breaths a minute the inhalation rate is typically 5 seconds and the exhalation rate is 5 seconds. At 5 breaths a minute, the inhalation period is 6 seconds and the exhalation period is 6 seconds. At the beginning of the session the inhalation rate is typically shorter than the exhalation rate but the machine actually lowers the exhalation rate and increases the inhalation rate as the session goes on. Is there some way to get the machine to work properly to prolong the exhalation rate?
From the clinical reports, I take it that prolonging the exhalation rate is more important for lowering blood pressure than merely lowering the total breaths per minute |

Exactly. It is during the prolonged exhalation where you are relaxing the body, the muscles around the small blood vessels which allows them to dilate. Do you sense that there is a fault with your unit? Perhaps there is a technical issue with your unit. Please e-mail your serial number to SUPPORT@RESPERATE.COM and tell them you were directed from Marguerite in the Forum. I will be sure that you are taken care of.
