How old are you. What are your eating habits. Do you exercise? Your weight?

dave k, i am also hypertensive. when this was discovered, i had a BP of 220/120 and im still alive! colesterol, uric, etc... were all normal, after an executive check-up. however, i wasn't satisfied. i had my kidneys checked (renal doppler, angiogram, CT scan, etc..) and it was found out that i hav a small tumor on my left adrenal gland. then worked up with an endocrinologist to determine whether the adrenal tumor was active or not. and it was found out to be active, producing hormone cortisol 4 times than the normal level. and so, my illness now has a name - Cushing's Syndrome (classified as a rare illness). scared? no. I am lucky coz i was accepted to the National Institutes of Health in Maryland, USA for the study on Cushing's Syndrome. My NIH experience was great!

May i suggest that you also check http://www.cushings-help.com. you might find some information there which might be helpful to you. a lot of doctors don't believe in Cushing's Syndrome. it's a very hard to diagnose illness.

good luck!

Hi, I have the same experience relatively high Systolic 150-160, diastolic 73-83,
have just purchased the Resperate to lower my blood pressure. I am 54 and slightly overweight but exercise on a regular basis. I know that the systolic pressure normally increases with age, but is it possible to lower only sys ? How many in my age group has similar problems ?

Regards

Bo

I'm wondering the same thing myself - my systolic is very high - with an average over 24 hours including hours of sleep of 163/83. The diastolic sometimes reads 58 so I'm not so much concerned about the diastolic but the systolic is out of sight often - over 200 and upper 190's frequently with meds.

I'm hoping the Resperate will resolve this problem. Good luck!

A recent US clinical study shows that RESPeRATE was just as effective for isolated systolic hypertension as typical conditions of hypertension. The systolic (high number) value was reduced while the diastolic (low number) was not. We would be happy to provide your doctor with information at his or her request.

Dave, used Resperate religiously for almost 3 weeks logging in 2 - 3 20 minute sessions daily without fail. Logged in an average of 19 therapeutic breathing minutes per session. So after almost 3 weeks and thinking that worst case scenario that my blood pressure would at least be the same as it's been the past year or so - with some fluctuations - I decided to take my blood pressure on a brand new blood pressure monitor (Reli). It was 249/94 - right after a session and the very highest that my blood pressure has evern been in my entire life. I took it again a couple of hours later on a different machine and it was 216/110. I was flabbergasted - not expecting it to be reduced substantially after just 3 weeks but certainly not elevated to these extremes. In my case, Resperate didn't work for me and I'm not so sure that "overusing" the device didn't contribute to the elevated reading.
