I sometimes have problems with my breathing wether it is better to breath in and out through the nose. I find that breathing out through my mouth helps me to get my breathing rate down. Soes any one else have this problem.

Me, I prefer breathing through my nose in both directions. Angel |

It's only a suggestion to breathe in through your nose & out through your mouth, with pursed lips. Ultimately, it's about what is most comfortable to you!

Marguerite (IMG:http://forum.resperate.com/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Hi,I am a new Resperate user just under 7 days. I am so glad you stated that info about how to breath. Now what happens if you do not reach the therapeutic level in any given session. Thanks Manny |

If you do not reach the therapeutic zone in a session, then don't stress it. You will eventually...and gradually. I often say that I'd prefer to see someone begin at a higher breathing rate and slowly work their way down to the therapeutic zone, rather than beginning in it. Keep in mind, therapeutic zone is 10 BPM or below.

First of all. many thanks for being here. I am a newbie - less than a week. I, too am normal weight and eat healthy but still high blood pressure. I am on one medication. My question: when my blood pressure is being taken - either by me or at the doctor's office - is it ok to do the deep breathing in and out as if using the machine? I tried this a few days ago and it seems to help calm my nerves, and gives me a better reading.

This is something that I actually do when ever I am getting my blood pressure. I actually look away and don't look at the nurse of monitor. I look at one of the many posters they have displayed on the walls while taking in deep breaths and exhaling slowly. This works for me, so give it a try!

Thank you SO much!
I will try looking away and do the deep inhales and exhales. I am encouraged! If this indeed works, it is very much worth every cent. |
