I have logged 17 sessions since 1/10/2006, and I really fell like the device is working. I took my BP before the session, took 3 sessions, and took my BP after the 3 sessions. My lower number came down from 102 to 92.
I have always wanted to do something to fight high blood pressure, but have always been told that there was nothing that could be done, except loose weight, exercise, eat right and avoid salt (I have done all of those things, and it is still bad). I feel that Resperate will give me an opportunity to fight back! QUESTION: I turn the thing on, and follow the instructions (that is all I do!!). The only input I have is the initial BPM. In my last session I started at 12 BPM and the TONES TOOK ME DOWN TO 3.7 BMP. I didn't have anything to do with it, The tones took me to 3.7!!!!!!!!!!!! This is not a problem for me and I am happy, but I read responces not trying to get the BPM too low, just stay below 10 ------ I really don't understand, I DON'T TRY AND DO ANYTHING, I JUST FOLLOW THE TONES (DO WHAT I AM TOLD). I don't have any problems, just wanted to confirm that the machine was doing what it is supposed to do (IN TAKING MY BPM TO 3.7). I am great with the 3.7 BMP's (not complaining), just wanted to ask if this is normal. Comments will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks RESP@RATE! jsand |

Dear jsand,
17 sessions and still going strong! Good for you. Yes, the sensor is constantly guaging your breating rate and if it is picking-up that you are "keeping up with it" then it will try to bring you to a lower breathing rate. We recommend that you do not go below 5bpm, only because most people can not comfortably breathe at that pace without effort or strain. However, IF, you ARE comfortable at that rate then do not fight the machine and just go with it. A key point is if at any time you notice your blood pressure reading increase, then you've just put forth too much effort in that session! Breathe Easy!
