Have a question that's admittedly one for my doctor but I am curious as to what others know about it. I understand the "guidelines" for taking BP at home (ie. seated for 5-10 minutes, three readings, throw out the first and average the seoncd and third, etc.) during which I am currently averaging around 132/82 with a pulse of 56 BPM. However, after standing and leisurely walking around the kitchen I take it and it is much higher (ex. 155/95 and 60 BPM). Is this normal? If not, does anyone know of what underlying condition may be causing it? I am 33 years old, am at ideal weight, watch what I eat and run 3-4 times a week approx 3 miles per run, but can't help but feel that my BP is at dangerous levels throughout much of the day given this rise at low exertion levels. Honestly, I've stopped running until I'm more confident that I'm not actually causing harm by doing so. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!!

Well, I am not a Dr, but I think you have the right idea by asking your Dr. However, I think that you should keep up the running. Don't stop doing that! Running and other cardio excercises are good for the cardiovascular system.

That is a very good question and I also would be pleasd to know the answers to this. In addition to this what sort of range of fluctuation would be regarded as healthy.

This is a very good question. Following on from that i would like to know how 24hr BPM readings taken every 15 minutes by a cuff and tape recorder relate with those taken as described in the question which allow rest and composure before and duing the readings.
