My wife decided to buy me Resperate, knowing I've wanted one for some time. She placed the order for an Ultra first thing Monday morning, and took advantage of the $50 rebate. When she told me the order was on the way after work Monday, I went on the website and said she must have mis-read the discount offer, as it said "Save $65 on RESPeRATE - This Week Only." She called customer service today (Tuesday) and was told that they changed the promotion in the middle of the day Monday, and, worse yet, would not honor the newer deal -- a total difference of $15!!!

I know a little something about customer service, and this is a disastrous sign on many levels. I can't think of a worse way for a company to hurt itself than by pissing off a brand new customer over $15 just because an order was placed early in the day. In fact, this was so silly that my wife asked to speak with a supervisor, and was told that the person she was speaking to was the only person she could deal with.

Wish me luck when I open the box!
